You may want to know how to enable The Witcher 3 alternative appearances, as several of the main characters in the game have special outfits that can be equipped in the options menu. After The Witcher 3 launched, it had sixteen free DLCs which added various new features such as gear, new game + mode, and alternative outfits. With the recent next-gen patch, there are also two more alternative appearances. So, check out how to equip The Witcher 3 alternative appearances.

There are currently five alternative appearances which can be enabled in The Witcher 3, with three of them being introduced in the post-launch free DLCs, and two more being added as part of the next-gen patch. These outfits can be activated for the main characters Ciri, Triss, Yennefer, and Dandelion, along with an alternative appearance for the Nilfgaardian soldiers.

The Dandelion and Nilfgaardian soldier alternative outfits are based on The Witcher TV show for Netflix. The outfits for the other three characters aren't based on anything of note, instead just providing a different look.

If you want to enable the alternative appearances for the characters, go to the game's main menu and then select 'Options'. From here, click 'Gameplay' and then scroll toward the bottom, where you will see all five alternative appearance options. They all default to off, so just set the ones you want to on, and when you load back into the game, the appearances of the selected characters will change.

It's worth searching for what they look like before making your decision, and you can easily find before and after pictures online instead of having to load in and out of the game.

That's all for our explainer of The Witcher 3 alternative appearances, and now you know how to enable the alternative costumes for the various characters.
