Potential Call of Duty 80s Action Heroes That Activision Could Release

Activision has taken a leaf out of the Epic Games playbook this spring, with a collaboration that saw two monumental Hollywood figures become animated in Black Ops Cold War and Warzone

The Call of Duty 80s Action Heroes collab kicked off with Die Hard's John McClane and Rambo (from, erm, Rambo) coming as operators, as well as Nakatomi Plaza being added to Verdansk '84 instead of the broadcast tower in Downtown.

Following the success of the bundles, what other Call of Duty 80s Action Heroes could be added?

5 - The Terminator (Arnold Schwarzenegger), Terminator

As the obvious name of possible 80s Call of Duty Action Heroes, big Arnie's addition will have players whizzing off to the Gulag shouting "I’ll be back" through locked jaws and sunglasses.

The brute blockbuster could also bring along his signature weapons in the Shotgun and M134 Minigun, which would allow for one sweaty battle royale experience. The Season 4 Zombies Map could be iconic as Arnie's playground.

4 - Marty McFly (Michael J. Fox), Back to the Future

With Verdansk being whisked back in time to the 1980s era, rather than that portrayed in Modern Warfare, who better to add but the master of time travel than Marty McFly.

The main character in the Back to the Future franchise would be adept addition to the lineup, although his weapon skills might not be as sharp as others. McFly did make use of his Colt Peacemaker revolver on the odd occasion in the films but is far from the typical hell-for-leather mercenary.

Despite his lack of sharpshooting expertise, he certainly fits into the theme of Warzone, and could even help the squad get back to the 1950s when the integration comes with Call of Duty: Vanguard.

3 - Dr Henry Walton Jones, Jr (Harrison Ford), Indiana Jones

The raider of lost arcs, doomed temples, and the hearts of every 80s boomer, Indiana Jones and his whip would make for an ideal collaboration for Call of Duty in its current era. Despite the archaeologist's dangerous fetish, Indy's whip could be used in a finisher move, with him often seen wielding a pistol for more long-ranged combat.

He also manages to get his hands on an MP-40 within the films, off the back of an enemy, which could pave the way for the SMG to be added into the game in an awesome bundle.

2 - Pete "Maverick" Mitchell (Tom Cruise), Top Gun

With most of the action heroes bruised from brazened pasts, Top Gun's finest naval aviator would certainly sprinkle a little bit of style on the 1908s Call of Duty theme. The quirky jack-the-lad character depicts the stereotypical CoD fan too, and with his sleek sunglasses, Maverick's character could be a great addition to the franchise.

The weapons of choice in Top Gun are often mounted atop of aircraft, but just as we saw with the Season 2 update and the arrival of Wolf, Call of Duty isn't unfamiliar with mini guns used in boots on the ground combat.

1 - Alex Murphy (Peter Weller), RoboCop

After being struck down in the line of duty, Alex Murphy's shiny reanimated corpse would be a little bit of a stretch of realism in the Call of Duty franchise, but would most likely be Activision's biggest seller on the list.

Whether the operator skin would come with Murphy's bald head on show or covered up with his cyborg-esque helmet, RoboCop's signature look would be a real hit with 80s fans - who wouldn't want to slide cancel around Verdansk as the era's deadliest tin man?

Honourable mentions are in order for a select cast of Johns, who could be added too, considering that both McClane and Rambo boast the same first name. John Wick and John Matrix could also be good Call of Duty 80s Action Heroes, especially with the latter's signature cloaked appearance.
