MW2 Season 3: All New Details, Release Window, & More
We've only just got down to business in Modern Warfare 2 Season 2, but this hasn't stopped players already looking to the future with Season 3. With the current Call of Duty title still operating in a live-service system that holds back quite a lot of content from the original game, there are still quite a lot of modes, maps, and weapons that are left to be desired. With a little luck. Modern Warfare 2 Season 3 is hopefully where these will come into play.
So, when is the MW2 Season 3 release date, and what can we expect to see?

Modern Warfare 2 Season 3 Release Date
Even though there hasn't been an official announcement as to when MW2 Season 3 will arrive, we can deduct the official release date.
Each season in the Call of Duty live service lasts for ten weeks, and Season 2 was rolled out on Wednesday, February 15. This means that Modern Warfare 2 Season 3 should start on April 26.
Obviously, this is in the circumstances where the developers don't stray from their usual plan, and given that they extended Season 2 by two weeks, the April 26 release date is subject to change.

MW2 Season 3: New Game Modes
The big addition that will arrive in Modern Warfare 2 Season 3 is Gunfight.
Call of Duty took to Twitter to confirm that Gunfight is coming in Season 3. The two-versus-two game mode was suspected to be ready for Season 2 but has instead been delayed until April.
Gunfight could then pivot into Tournaments and Blueprint Gunfight LTMs, where players will get used to using a range of weapons to be crowned king of the hill.

MW2 Season 3: New Maps
As usual, a new season will bring at least two new multiplayer maps to the game. One of these designs has been moved forward to Season 2 Reloaded, making way for another 6v6 map to arrive.
Given that we've recently seen Afghan added top Warzone, this could be one of the landscapes that makes it into MW2. Ultimately though, there's no telling what maps will be released in Season 3, yet.
Modern Warfare 2 Season 3 should round off most of the content that fans feel "should" be in the game, finally rounding off the rough edges from its launch.
