Following vocal outrage from the multiplayer side of the Call of Duty community, Infinity Ward has decided to act upon your grievances and bring forward one of the multiplayer map designs which was previously planned for a later release.

The map pool in Modern Warfare 2 has been widely criticised, given that the only additions we've seen since the game launch were three remastered designs from CoDs gone by and a re-release of a map that was held back from the game due to copyright infringements.

With a calling for more original maps to be added, Infinity Ward has listened to the community backlash.

With Dome and Museum joining Shipment and Shoot House as post-launch content, the developers appeared to be stopping there until Season 3.

However, in its Season 2 patch notes, the developer have confirmed that a brand-new original map is being pulled forward from its suspected Season 3 release and is now coming in the mid-season update.

"It's already play-testing well and tracking ahead of schedule", said Call of Duty on Twitter. Creator ProReborn wrote, "Well, its a start & looks very nice. Bonus points for bringing it to this season and not the next!"

Another added, "Great to see the team reacting to community feedback and giving 6v6 fans more content sooner," while a third said, "New Map looks nice 👀👀👀."

Modern Warfare 2 Season 2 Reloaded To Feature More Multiplayer Content

The unnamed map will arrive in Modern Warfare 2 specifically for 6v6 gameplay, although little more is known about its size and style.

However, it won't be the only content multiplayer fans get. In a bid to win back the favour of this community, the developers are now planning to roll out game modes such as Drop Zone, All or Nothing, and One in the Chamber.

The team also confirmed that there will be new Raids to undergo in the Spec Ops category, which will offer more variety for multiplayer fans.

With hope, this doesn't make Season 3's content any worse, as the more maps the merrier is the motto that MW2 multiplayer mains are hoping to see adopted.
