At last, the Battlefield 2042 beta release date has been announced. There have been countless leaks and rumours, along with the full game release date delay recently, as hype grows for Battlefield 2042. We initially thought the full game would be launching in October with a September beta, but both of those have been pushed back by a month. Thankfully though, the wait for news is over; read on for everything you need to know about the Battlefield 2042 beta release date.

Battlefield 2042 Beta: Release Date

Praise be to the Battlefield gods; the beta release date has been officially announced! After the delay and countless rumours and "leaks", we now know the Battlefield 2042 beta release date is October 6, and it will run until October 9. October 6-7 is reserved for fans that pre-order the game or are part of EA Play, while October 8-9 is open to players on all platforms.

With the full game releasing on November 19, EA should have about a month and some change to make the necessary adjustments based on the information they gather through the Battlefield 2042 beta.

While DICE and EA classify the Battlefield 2042 beta as an open beta, individuals that are active EA Play subscribers, Xbox Game Pass members, and those that pre-order any of the Battlefield 2042 editions will receive early access to the beta.

Everyone else will need to wait patiently until the beta goes fully public a couple of days later.

Like the release date, the Battlefield devs have kept the details of the beta largely under wraps. There’s no official word on what sort of content will be available in the Battlefield 2042 beta other than the following, which is vague at best:

"Be among the first to experience the next generation of all-out warfare in the Battlefield 2042 Open Beta. Join the fight on Orbital with a diverse selection of Specialists, cutting-edge weaponry, and vehicles to choose from."

We know of the existence of Battlefield Portal and Hazard Zone, Battlefield’s new Escape From Tarkov-like squad-based game mode. It’s possible that Battlefield fans will get to check out these rousing new game modes early, but the Battlefield 2042 beta could also be restricted to just the traditional Battlefield multiplayer gameplay.

We can also expect the opportunity to experiment with a limited selection of maps, weapons, vehicles, and specialists. Battlefield dataminer, temporyal, has dived deep into the game files to uncover a ton of juicy details. The full game will contain over 22 weapons, including the SCAR, Vector, SAW, and the Cobra R9 Crossbow. Furthermore, DICE itself has confirmed the existence of at least ten different Battlefield 2042 specialists, seven new maps and six returning maps, and a series of vehicles.

We do not know what of this content will be included in the Battlefield 2042 beta, but there’s surely a lot to look forward to.

The Battlefield 2042 beta is only live for four days. After that, it's a dreadful wait until the game officially releases on November 19. Battlefield fans who pre-order the Gold Edition or Ultimate Edition of Battlefield 2042 will get to play the game a week early starting on November 12. Battlefield 2042 will be available on all platforms, including PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, and Xbox Series S. There will also be Battlefield 2042 crossplay and cross-progression.

That’s everything you need to know about the Battlefield 2042 beta. Stay tuned here at GGRecon for Battlefield 2042 news, guides, features, and more.
