Cal Kestis is back in the Stinger Mantis, as Respawn Entertainment's Star Wars Jedi: Survivor prepares to slice the hand off the competition in 2023.

As the much-hyped sequel to 2019's Star Wars Jedi: Fallen OrderSurvivor picks up the story of Cal Kestis some five years after he escaped the clutches of Darth Vader. If you're wondering whether to buy on PlayStation or Xbox, we might have the answer for you.

Jedi: Survivor's Xbox Edition Comes With Bonuses

According to trusted leaker Wario64, the Xbox Series X version of Star Wars Jedi: Survivor can be upgraded from the base version to the deluxe... for absolutely nothing. It's true that it's mainly cosmetics, but still, a free gift is a free gift.

There's an obvious caveat here that you need to be subscribed to Xbox Game Pass Ultimate. It's true that if you're subscribed, the extra $5 a month means EA has probably got its money's worth from you, but if you were planning on getting Jedi: Survivor, it's a welcome gift.

You'll get the Obi-Wan Kenobi-inspired Hermit Bundle if you pre-order, but in terms of what's extra in the Deluxe Edition, Game Pass Ultimate subscribers will be rewarded with cosmetic skins for both BD-1 and the Stinger Mantis, a Digital Art Book, and a "Director's Cut" which includes 90 minutes of behind-the-scenes videos and extra footage.

It's unclear whether this deal is a limited-time offer or will carry on, but if you're planning on getting the game and have Game Pass Ultimate, we suggest you redeem it while you can.

When Will Jedi: Survivor Release?

We're heading toward the Jedi: Survivor like we're dashing off into hyperspace as the March 17 release date looms. The AAA title has been hit by several delays, and while it's dropped its last-gen versions, that might be for the best as we hope for a truly new-gen title.

In a year that was dominated by Elden RingJedi: Survivor is effectively a sci-fi Souls-like. There is some stiff competition in 2023, meaning Survivor will go up against the likes of Starfield and The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom. Still, we imagine it'll be a triumph and an early Game of the Year contender.
