Star Wars Jedi: Survivor Might Not Run On Steam Deck
The long-awaited sequel to Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order is around the corner, but users of the Steam Deck are worried they might not be able to run it.
We know Respawn Entertainment is moving forward with a wholly new-gen game that will hopefully push things forward and be a worthy successor to 2019's critically acclaimed game.

However, like any piece of hardware, it has its limits. The upcoming Star Wars Jedi: Survivor might be the game that firmly tests just how powerful the Steam Deck is.
With the Jedi Survivor minimum and recommended specifications finally revealed, many Steam Deck users are worried that the device won't be able to handle the game.
There's also a Reddit thread about it over on r/SteamDeck, with many users expressing concern. For starters, it has a whopping 130 GB install size, which instantly puts any owners of the 64 GB model out of commission if they don't have an SD card.
Others are questioning the GPU and CPU being up to snuff, and while there are some examples of Deck-verified games not meeting the minimum requirements, this can only stretch so far.
One user pointed out that the system requirements don't specify target performance, so it's very difficult to gauge if the game will be able to meet people's desire for full high definition at 60 frames per second.
Some players will certainly be happy with 720p at 30 fps, but once again, with no indication of performance targets, it's hard to say if it can even consistently meet that.
Will There Be A Steam Deck 2?
Click to enlargeWith the unarguable success of the Steam Deck, it begs the question of whether there will be a second generation, or even a more powerful model anytime soon.
Valve itself sees the Steam Deck as a "multi-generational category," as outlined in their Steam Deck ebook, stating, "We will build new versions to be even more open and capable than the first version of Steam Deck has been."
This is essentially a confirmation that Valve has plans to continue developing more advanced versions of the machine, and during an interview with The Verge, Deck designers Lawrence Yang and Pierre-Loup Griffais even spoke of plans to improve the battery life and screen in the future.
The future of handheld gaming seems to be in good hands, and hopefully, this encourages more developers to reveal performance indicators specifically for the Steam Deck.
