Cyberpunk 2077 just keeps on growing. It'd been safe to assume that a paid DLC was completely out of the question for the game at launch, with its debut being one of the most catastrophic in recent memory for video games. Alas, Phantom Liberty cometh.

The Cyberpunk 2077 DLC isn't coming alone, as it'll be adding to the list of famous actors in the futuristic RPG. Idris Elba's Solomon Reed joins Keanu Reeves' Johnny Silverhand as A-list cmaeos.

The Thor star suits the world beautifully, and we're certainly excited to see what he contributes to Cyberpunk 2077 - as is one fan artist, who managed to see him coming years in advance.

Idris Elba's Cyberpunk Role Was Predicted In 2020

It looks like Idris Elba's appearance in the Phantom Liberty DLC for Cyberpunk 2077 wasn't a total surprise to everyone, as one fan artist has proven that the concept is a long-considered one.

Zsolt Kosa is a digital artist from Hungary, who was seemingly gifted with Apollo's Gift of Prophecy. He brought Idris Elba to life in a Cyberpunk style two whole years ago.

In 2020, Kosa shared drawings of Elba in Cyberpunk 2077 to his ArtStation page. As well as this fictional character sporting ice blue cyber-eyes, there's another that looks a lot more Silverhand with a pair of fancy sunglasses.

Speaking with Eurogamer, Kosa seems pretty stoked about the reveal and told the site, "When I first read the news I got goosebumps and couldn't stop smiling for hours. I still can't believe it. Seeing my idea become a reality is always exciting."

When Is Phantom Liberty Coming Out?

The brand-new DLC will bring Idris Elba to Night City at some point in 2023, with fans hoping that it comes early in the year. At the time of writing, we don't have many details on a specific date.

Still, with Idris himself taking to Twitter to call the DLC "the deepest game narrative ever," it looks like we've got plenty to look forward to. Reeves was one of the best parts of the base game, and with Elba's credentials, he's sure to bring something different to the role of Solomon Reed.

The reveal that Kosa put Idris Elba in Cyberpunk 2077 years before CD Projekt Red did is pretty fascinating, and frankly, a little spooky. If you need us, we'll be crawling through Kosa's art in search of a Back to the Future II-esque gambling situation.
