We hope you've been saving your Christmas money because we've found something you'll definitely be wanting to spend it all on. Limited edition Nintendo Switches are everywhere, and now, there could be a new one.

With The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom coming in 2023, there could be a whole new Switch to play it on, with this supposedly limited edition console letting your return to Hyrule in style.

What Is The Tears Of The Kingdom Switch?

Over on the Famiiboard forum, user Kysen shared images of the supposed Tears of the Kingdom-themed Switch OLED (via VGC). Remembering that 2017's Breath of the Wild is one of the Switch's flagship titles, it makes sense that Nintendo is pushing the boat out with its sequel.

It's unclear where the OP got these pictures from and if they actually have the Switch in their possession, but it looks like a suitably glossy affair. Then again, we should take all of this with a pinch of salt because there's a chance it could be an elaborate fake.

The themed Switch has gold joy-cons with a Zelda-esque patterning, while the white dock has the franchise's Tri-Force decorating it. By the looks of it, this special Switch doesn't include an actual copy of the game, meaning it could drop before Tears of the Kingdom's May 12 release.

What Happened To The Switch Pro

Unfortunately, the reveal of the Tears of the Kingdom Switch is another nail in the coffin for the mythical Switch Pro. We've gone over the idea of a Switch sequel a million times before, and while specs are continuously leaked, they've not turned into anything.

As hardware has improved so much in the past five years, there are worries that Tears of the Kingdom will struggle on the Switch. Nintendo isn't known for its hardware packing a punch, but we'll have to wait and see how Tears of the Kingdom fares on what's a relatively old console by today's standards.

Limited edition Switches are a dime a dozen, with everything from Animal Crossing: New Horizons to Pokemon Scarlet & Violet getting their own versions. Most of us have a Switch by now, so will some fancy scrawls and a new colourway really be enough to make you part with your money?
