Assassin's Creed has been a big deal since it launched, and especially so after the introduction of fan-favourite protagonist Ezio Auditore da Firenze in Assassin's Creed II. The character's adventures are lauded as the franchise's best - serving as the roots that allowed the series to develop into the action-adventure it has become.

Of course, a lot of people really love the direction the series has taken into the likes of Egyptian and Norse mythology, but it's the sneaking, diving, and killing on the sly that made Assassin's Creed what it is. Let's remember, Ezio is the face of that. Now, it looks like he could be making a bold return.

Is Ezio Coming Back To Assassin's Creed?

Rumours have been swirling that Ezio could be making his return to the Assassin's Creed series after his voice actor has been spotted outside of a Ubisoft office.

The actor, Roger Craig Smith, has stirred conversation by sharing a picture of himself outside of the offices of Ubisoft Montreal in Canada. It could well be an innocent, self-referential selfie, but fans have taken this as a hint that Ezio is coming back.

Now, the conversation is rife about what this project could actually be. Is it a full-blown and Ezio-led, back-to-basics, Assassin's Creed game? Is Ezio making an appearance in Assassin's Creed Infinity in some capacity? Not much is known right now, but it's an exciting prospect nonetheless. And, there's still more to glean about the upcoming Assassin's Creed project.

Assassin's Creed Infinity Location Reportedly Revealed By Leak

Industry insider Jeff Grubb has claimed that he knows just where the new Assassin's Creed project is going to be set. Speaking on the Game Mess Mornings podcast, Grubb claims that even though Assassin's Creed Red will be set in Japan, this won't be the only setting for the project.

Grubb says that a location that is "not something that people have been asking for" is set to make an appearance. If that wasn't enough, there's the Basim-led Assassin's Creed Rift, the VR Assassin's Creed Nexus, the live-service Assassin's Creed Infinity, and apparently some Aztec mythology. We don't know what to expect from this plethora of projects, but one thing's for sure - it's more Assassin's Creed, so we're keen.
