"No, I am your sequel." As we prepare to send the Stinger Mantis into hyperspace, there has been a flurry of rumours and leaks relating to Respawn Entertainment's long-awaited Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order 2. Apparently, a few familiar faces from the galaxy far, far away, could be coming to help Cal Kestis.

Released in 2019, Fallen Order was an ambitious action-adventure title that took place in the rich period of Star Wars history surrounding Order 66, Anakin's transformation into Darth Vader, and Emperor Palpatine's rise to power. Being a commercial and critical smash, it was only a matter of time until we'd hear the swoosh of a lightsaber once again.

Who Is Coming To Fallen Order 2?

The crux of the first game followed a wholly unique story with largely new additions to the ever-expanding franchise canon. As well as Cal, we were introduced to BD-1, Cere Junda, and the Second Sister. There were established villains like Darth Vader and Darth Sidious, but on the whole, it was up to the newbies to steer the story. Could that change in the sequel?

New info comes from The Bespin Bulletin, which is packed with updates on the sequel. The site reports, "Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order 2, will feature returning characters from its predecessor, some with larger roles, along with exciting existing Star Wars characters that weren’t featured in the first instalment."

Apparently, they've known about who these characters are since 2020, but added, "With the game possibly not even releasing this year, I don’t want to ruin any surprises this early on." Opening the doors of speculation on who could pop by for a cameo, the galaxy is your oyster.

Most logically, we shouldn't expect a cameo pulled from The Mandalorian Season 2, with a young Luke Skywalker. Fallen Order takes place around five years after Revenge of the Sith, meaning Luke Skywalker and Leia Organa are just babies at this point. Then again, anyone from Obi-Wan Kenobi to Master Yoda, Han Solo to Darth Maul could pop by for a natter.

What Else Do We Know About Fallen Order 2?

Other info comes courtesy of Jeff Grubb's GrubbSnax that the title will be revealed before E3 2022. Added to this, it apparently won't be called Fallen Order 2. It's unclear how Respawn will name the sequel, but expect either the words "fallen" or "order" to be there somewhere.

As for the story, things could go literally anywhere. The cliffhanger ending of the first game had Cal and the crew escaping Darth Vader's clutches and racing off in the Stinger Mantis. Given that these characters haven't appeared in the "modern" timeline of canon, it's unclear whether they got to live out happy lives or were hunted down by the Empire.

With calls for Cameron Monaghan to reprise his role as Cal in live-action, here's hoping he makes it out of Fallen Order 2 alive. There are suggestions that Fallen Order will be revealed at this year's Star Wars Celebration on May 4, but we'll have to wait and see. Help us Respawn Entertainment, you're our only hope!
