The Cyberpunk 2077 Transmog feature is brand-new to the game, having only been added in the recent Edgerunners update, which coincided with the release of the Netflix anime with the same. Cyberpunk 2077 was notoriously unfinished at launch, with performance issues, a slew of bugs and glitches, and missing features, some of which are still yet to be added two years later. However, the Transmog has finally been added after players continually asked for it. Cyberpunk 2077 Transmog Explained
Click to enlargeTransmogging is a quality of life feature that's quite prevalent in many MMOs and RPGs in modern gaming, and whenever it's missing from a game, it's one of the first things the community will ask for. Essentially, it allows you to change the appearance of the clothing you're wearing while keeping its stats. This is useful due to how wild a lot of the clothing in Cyberpunk can be, with you often mixing and matching different pieces and committing a litany of fashion crimes in the process.
With the implementation in Cyberpunk 2077, players can create up to six different outfits to equip, while keeping the stats of the clothes being worn in their inventory at the time. To do this, head to your apartment and interact with the wardrobe. If this is your first time doing so since the update, you will get a message that briefly explains how the Transmog works. On the left of the screen, there will be six slots for the six outfits you can create, and on the right, there will be slots for the different clothing - two pieces for the head, upper body, and lower body.
Select one of the outfit slots, and then pick the articles of clothing you want to wear by placing them into the clothing slots. Once you've finished, click 'Equip' in the bottom left to save the selection, and then exit out of the menu. If you go into your inventory, you will notice an Outfit tab to the right of the Lower Body section, where the outfit you just created will be equipped. In this inventory screen, you can also select different clothing for the different slots, but if your outfit is equipped, only the stats of your clothes will change, not the appearance.
If you want to create new outfits, you will need to return to your apartment, but you can change saved outfits from the inventory screen.
