Netflix's Assassin's Creed Series Sounds Like It's In Trouble
Assassin's Creed has a lot of big promises to keep, and some fans are unsure that they'll be able to see them all through.
Last year saw a conference from Ubisoft reveal a wealth of new Assassin's Creed projects - mainline titles, spin-offs, and even a new Netflix series to heal the wound by the Michael Fassbender movie.
It wasn't bad by any means, but the film didn't do much to bring the series into the public eye, so there are hopes that the new live-action series will mean that the Animus can come to living rooms across the world. But there's bad news coming from the Netflix camp.

Speaking with Collider, showrunner Jeb Stuart confirmed he has left the Assassin's Creed show, but he didn't leave on bad terms - and he's still confident that the series has great potential.
"I think it was a little bit of a move of executives from LA to London, and it allowed the London group who, unfortunately, had to inherit my vision of what it was instead of getting to develop their own vision. So I think that's fair," he says of the new change to the show.
"I know it's going to be great whenever it comes out. I think the Ubisoft guys are fantastic. I think it's a terrific franchise. It was just a good, mutual time to move on for both sides."
Netflix's Assassin's Creed Series Predicted Release Date
We don't know exactly when to expect the Assassin's Creed series, but it's probably fair to say that losing its showrunner will pump the brakes on its production.
Of course, Netflix has gotten pretty good at turning around content like lightning. If the show gets the time and care it deserves, we probably shouldn't expect it this year. Early-to-mid 2024 is probably the safest bet at this stage.
Though the series might be a way off, it could do wonders for the cultural standing of the series. Also, as Ubisoft powers forward with so many AC projects, it might be for the best to wait until the IP's hype rises again. Apologies to Michael Fassbender.
