What are the biggest twists to grace the galaxy far, far away? From Kylo Ren killing Supreme Leader Snoke in The Last Jedi to the unforgettable "No, I am your father" in Empire, Luke coming to save Grogu in The Mandalorian to everyone kicking the bucket in Rogue One, there have been some great ones over the past 45 years - okay, so Rey being Palpatine's granddaughter didn't quite work.

Star Wars video games are no different, and while we're still reeling about Knights of the Old Republic's Darth Revan reveal nearly 20 years later, the franchise has come a long way. We have "a new hope" that Star Wars Jedi: Survivor will be a worthy sequel to 2019's Fallen Order, but now, eagle-eyed sleuths think they've figured out the AAA title's big twist.

What Is The Jedi: Survivor Twist?

Although Respawn Entertainment has only given us a brief teaser trailer for Survivor (that doesn't use any actual gameplay), it's sent a shockwave through the Force that has us on the edge of our speeders ahead of its 2023 release.

In the trailer, we see Cal Kestis facing off against a hooded figure with a red lightsaber. Given the death of Trilla at the end of Fallen Order, we know it's not her. It's also important to remember the sinister-looking Pau'an senator is NOT the Grand Inquisitor from Rebels and Obi-Wan Kenobi, so we doubt he's more than misdirection. More likely, Cal's new foe is the figure we later see him and BD-1 watching over in a bacta tank. But who is it?

Over on the Fallen Order subreddit, fans have been trying to decipher who's in the tank. The most popular comment comes courtesy of u/Super_Nerd92, who said, "My first thought was a Cal clone but I hope not, we've seen that kinda plot before." Another added, "It really looks like it. You can kinda tell that the hair is red in the tank." When someone joked it's Final Fantasy's Sephiroth, another concluded, "Came here for this comment. Sephiroth confirmed."

Will Jedi: Survivor Cross Over With Obi-Wan Kenobi?

We've already speculated that it could be Galen Marek to make the Force Unleashed games canon, but yes, that comes with a whole host of continuity problems. It might seem a little cliche to give Jedi: Survivor the same clone twist as Force Unleashed, but remembering LucasArts games aren't part of canon yet, it's not technically copying - just a bit of light peeking at someone else's exam answers.

Of course, mysterious characters ready to duke it out with Cal aren't the only big twists expected. Respawn already told us to expect some major cameos from familiar faces from the wider world of Star Wars, so does this mean Obi-Wan Kenobi will be saying "hello there"? With Survivor being set five years after Fallen Order, its timeline placement suggests there could be some crossover with Disney+'s Obi-Wan Kenobi series. If Cal is going up against a jacked version of himself, he could do with the help of the man who bested Anakin Skywalker on Mustafar.
