It's finally happening. Fans have been calling for a sequel to Jedi: Fallen Order for some time now, with Cal Kestis' journey across the galaxy far, far away that we love so much hitting hard with many players, despite some buggy growing pains at the game's reveal.

Players were crossing their fingers for a sequel reveal on May 4th of this year, with nothing exciting rearing its head, making the Star Wars Celebration event the last hope of a reveal. And thankfully, we got it.

Jedi: Survivor is officially on its way much to the delight of fans, and we've been assured that the upcoming game may have a slightly different tone than its predecessor.

Star Wars Jedi: Survivor Has A 'Menacing' Tone

Star Wars Jedi: Survivor's reveal trailer has already made a huge splash with fans of the game series, and now it turns out that the game could be taking up a much different tone than we were expecting.

In an interview with StarWars.com, the game's director Stig Asmussen has suggested that the game is going to have a much darker tone than the first, as a result of the state of the galaxy.

"The game is all about survival," he says. "That's why it's called Jedi: Survivor. They are in dark times, and Cal and the crew are doing whatever it takes to stay alive. That might mean that they are making connections with people that, in other times, might be considered unsavoury." Interesting.

It looks like the game is going to team Cal and his crew up with some unlikely allies - and many players think that connects to the trailer's bacta tank.

Who's In The Bacta Tank In The Jedi: Survivor Trailer

Jedi: Survivor's trailer offers a little peek at a mysterious character healing in a bacta tank - and some fans are convinced that it's Starkiller himself.

Starkiller appeared in the Star Wars: The Force Unleashed games, and served as an apprentice to Darth Vader. He hasn't been seen since these games, and it's thought that he could be the "unsavoury" ally that Asmussen mentioned in his interview.

Only time will tell if this comes to be true, but if it is, it could make for the best Star Wars gaming crossover we've seen yet. Bring it on.
