Overwatch 2 Maps List
The Overwatch 2 maps are split between four different game modes: Control, Escort, Hybrid, and Push. The first three should be recognisable to any Overwatch players, while the Push mode is a brand-new addition to the sequel that introduces new maps as well. The current map list, split by game mode, is:
Control
- Busan
- Ilios
- Lijiang Tower
- Nepal
- Oasis
Escort
- Circuit Royal
- Dorado
- Junkertown
- Route 66
- Watchpoint: Gibraltar
Hybrid
- Eichenwalde
- Hollywood
- King's Row
- Midtown
- Paraiso
Push
- Colosseo
- New Queen Street
Overwatch 2 New Maps
As the Push mode is brand-new, Colosseo and New Queen Street are also new, with them taking place in Rome and Toronto respectively. The Escort map Circuit Royal is also a new addition, which is set in Monte Carlo in the coastal city state of Monaco. Finally, the Hybrid maps Midtown and Paraiso, which are set in New York City and Rio de Janiero, are also new to Overwatch 2.
It's unknown how all these will be received by the community at this point, but the new Escort and Hybrid maps allowed Blizzard to balance the game modes, putting them at five maps in rotation each. The Push maps are a slightly different case, as it largely depends on how players respond to this game mode and its introduction in OW2.
Overwatch 2 Map Exclusions
Keen eyed players and those who put a lot of time into the first game may have noticed that the Control maps, Temple of Anubis and Hanamura, have been removed from the multiplayer map rotation. There's no news on whether these will be introduced again in the future or reworked, but you will be able to play these in custom modes during the game's release on October 4.
That's all for our list of the Overwatch 2 maps, and now you know what game mode each map corresponds too, along with the new maps, and the excluded ones.
