Modern Warfare 2 aim assist is a crucial part of what makes the game work well with a controller. Modern Warfare 2 is finally here and players are getting to grips with the new game. Aim assist sounds a bit like cheating, but it is an integral part of any console shooter and MW2 has more options to customise aim assist than most games. Here are our tips to get you the best MW2 aim assist settings.

In regard to aim assist, you have a number of options that you can change. First up is the Aim Assist Type, this changes the overall feel of aim assist. The options are Default, Precision, Focusing, and Black Ops. You'll start out set to Default as standard, and you should give it a try to see how it feels. Precision has a stronger aim slowdown when you aim at an enemy, but only activates in a small area, making it suited to people with very precise aim.

Focusing is the opposite, activating over a larger area to make life a bit easier for players without great aim. Black Ops is a bit less defined, this is aim assist based on how it feels in the Black Ops games. Choose this option if you are a big fan of that series and prefer how it feels.

Furthermore, you have Aim Response Curve Types, options that govern how the aim assist responds when it activates. Standard is your base level, Linear is a more straightforward system, and Dynamic grants finer control.

For your Aim Assist Type, your best bet is to play around with them to see what suits you the most. Precision would be ideal, but not a big deal if it doesn't work for you. Then for your Aim Response Curve Type, Dynamic seems to be the most popular option among top players.

Sensitivity is a crucial part of this, so be sure to go into the options and play around with it. It is a good idea to try multiple sensitivities to find what works for you, then fine-tune it from there. For your ADS Sensitivity Transition Timing, set it to Instant to get the fastest response. Then, play around with the Custom Sensitivity Per Zoom to change how ADS feels and make it ideal for you.

That is it for Modern Warfare 2 aim assist settings. For more on the game, check out our Modern Warfare 2 FOV guide.
