The Minecraft diamond level has been the same for years, making it easy for regular players to mine the valuable material. Yet Minecraft has received a pretty hefty update in the form of Minecraft 1.18, meaning that diamond has had a bit of a shift in locale. That's why we've got this guide to the Minecraft diamond level, so you know exactly where to find diamonds in Minecraft 1.18.

Minecraft diamond levels are far deeper now.

If you are looking for the Minecraft diamond level, you'll have to dig a little deeper than what you are used to. Thanks to the Minecraft Caves and Cliffs Part 2 update the previous Y-Levels of 1-15 aren't guaranteed to provide you with any of the goods. Instead, you may have to dig further between Y-Levels 14 and Y-Level -63. The update increased vertical space by 50%, meaning that you can go deeper (and higher) than ever before, however, they can still only be found in Overworld.

If you are yet to update Minecraft, then you'll still be able to find the diamonds in the original Y-Levels. However, considering how much of an expansion the update is, you'll likely want to get that updated as soon as possible.

When you are digging down to the Minecraft diamond levels, you are going to need to light your way. Things get dark down there so you are going to need plenty of lanterns and torches so you can keep track of where you are going. You'll also need the light to pick out the Diamond Ore, which appears in a lighter grey than traditional gravel, with blue flecks throughout them. There are a lot of different materials found underground, so be sure you are matching with the image we've attached above if you're brand new to Minecraft.

Now you know where to find diamonds in Minecraft, why not put those materials to use with the best Minecraft house ideas
