The House of Ashes save Clarice mystery is stumping players in the latest instalment in The Dark Pictures Anthology. Following Man of Medan and Little Hope, the third game had a reputation to live up to, and it certainly did just that. Knowing how to save Clarice in House of Ashes is important if you want to try and keep absolutely everybody alive, but the problem is not everyone can be saved. So is the House of Ashes save Clarice method possible? Read on and find out.

House Of Ashes Save Clarice: Is It Possible?

Clarice is a technician who vanishes within the first two hours of gameplay after being gripped by a mysterious monster. Player’s can only assume she is dead, but as Rachel wakes up during The Bloodbath scene, we soon learn that she isn’t alone. Rachel finds Clarice, who is looking worse for wear, and she then aids Rachel in escaping the chasm. After this, Rachel can choose to either help or abandon Clarice. The decision here is very significant.

Unfortunately, this is where we break the bad news: Clarice cannot survive, no matter which decision you choose. If you do decide to help Clarice though, there is every chance that Clarice may attempt to kill one of the main characters.

While Clarice is quite a likeable character in the short period that players get to interact with her, helping her is not a risk worth taking if players wish to protect the rest of their characters. By abandoning her when taking on the role of Rachel, Clarice will be hurt, but Rachel isn’t coined "Queen Bitch" for nothing. So, you can keep that in mind to save yourself a slither of guilt.

Like her counterpart Joey, Clarice will succumb to the parasite that initially infected her and she will have passed the point of being saved. If you help Clarice in the above decision, there's a chance she could reappear later in the game, but not as the character you've come to know. So if you want more Clarice action, then by all means opt to help her, but for the greater good of our main characters in House of Ashes, we recommend that you abandon her in the bloody chasms.

Make sure you give our House of Ashes review a read if you want to see our thoughts on the latest Dark Pictures Anthology instalment
