Many players are experiencing a Dying Light 2 audio bug which is affecting their ability to understand the story. Your experience of Dying Light 2 can be a little hit or miss regarding bugs, as some players are running into a fair few, and others are enjoying it without issue.

The Dying Light 2 audio bug is very annoying to deal with, but thankfully it's also easy to fix. The bug currently affects lines of dialogue spoken during cutscenes and normal gameplay, resulting in them being skipped randomly. This means some conversations are impossible to fully understand, and the story is negatively affected as a result, because key lines of information are passed over with no way to hear them back. This occurs seemingly at random too, so every conversation can suffer from the death knell of the audio bug.

Luckily, you don't have to go through a huge ordeal to fix this bug, and it just requires a full restart of the game. Whenever the issue occurs, just quit the game, and then load back in, and it should be corrected. The issue is apparent on every version of the game currently, and this fix works for the PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and PC versions.

Thankfully, the developers, Techland, are also aware and working on a permanent fix, though there is currently no ETA for when an update with this fix will arrive.
