You might want to know all the Dying Light 2 duck locations, as they currently appear to tie into an undiscovered Easter egg that many players are hunting down.

Dying Light 2 has some cool secrets hidden away in the nooks and crannies of Villedor, and now that the playerbase has access, many of them are slowly being discovered by the community. One of these relates to the strange ducks that are littered across the map, and while the ultimate purpose of the ducks is still unknown, it feels like the playerbase is getting close to uncovering the secret.

So, if you want to know all the Dying Light 2 duck locations, we've got you covered.

Dying Light 2 Duck Locations: What Are The Ducks For?

While all the Easter eggs haven't been fully solved yet, thanks to players using cheat engines on the game, we know what the red and black ducks are for.

The red ducks are connected to a secret rideable bike, while the black ducks relate to a DOOM Easter egg in the basement of the VNC Tower that lets you play E1M1 - the very first DOOM level. It's also worth noting that not all ducks have been found yet, which is further obscuring how to activate the secrets they lead to.

The first black duck can be found on a watchtower which makes up part of the wall surrounding the Mount Lucid Observatory. On the map, looking from the bottom, the duck is in the third watchtower up, which is directly on the right side of the entrance gate. If you climb up onto the wall, you can make your way into the room of the watchtower, and the duck is atop a box with some candles.

Once you get to the very top of the VNC Tower, you can find a Nightrunner's Hideout. Next to this, is a solar panel that sticks out from the building, and standing on it reveals an open window you can jump to below. There is an Inhibitor inside, but on one of the shelves is a safe, that can be cracked with the code 666.

On the very top north-west side of The Wharf in the Central Loop, there is a GRE Anomaly which you can get to by using the ropes that hang from a highway bridge above. Instead of going all the way to the Anomaly, drop into the water and swim to the right side to find a sunken police car. Pick the lock on the boot, and inside you will find another black duck among a shrine of blood and heads.

The next duck is on the docks of the river surrounding the Lower Dam Ayre. From the GRE Anomaly which is on top of the building at the north of Newfound Lost Lands, there is a patch of chemical waste just to the east. Just past this and down on a concrete dock, you can find another duck on top of an anchor.

The last of the black ducks can be found toward the northwest of Houndfield. It's near a patch of chemicals on the outskirts of the region, in an area with destroyed trees that's waterlogged. The duck is on an area that isn't submerged, surrounded by rocks.

Once you have collected all the black ducks, you can use it to activate a secret DOOM Easter egg, which is the E1M1 level from the original game. You need to go to the VNC Tower and head into the elevator. Go down to the basement level and follow the path into the flooded section down the stairs, swim forward until you come out of the water and there should be a open door just in front of you.

Heading through that door and down another elevator onto level zero, will bring you into the secret DOOM room, which has an altar in the middle surrounded by raised platforms. Place the ducks on these five platforms and the generators behind them will glow. You then have to do a wire puzzle, where you assemble them in a pentagram shape. You can follow the pentagram on the altar for a guide on where to place the wires.

Once the wires have been plugged into the generators, the room will shake and in the middle a flame will appear with a gun floating above it. This takes you into the secret combat challenge level called Hangar.

The first of the red ducks can be earned by going to the Newfound Lost Lands. In the area next to the GRE Anomaly, there is a road that leads into a patch of chemical waste, but heading the opposite way leads you to a one-story shop with no windows. The duck can be found in a safe inside the room behind the counter, and the code 451.

In the very south of Quarry End, across the road from the GRE Anomaly is a mansion that can be explored. Upstairs, in the main bedroom, you can find a safe on top of a set of cupboards which is next to the balcony door. Open the safe with the code 226788, and earn the next red duck.

On the west side of Muddy Grounds - just east of the Magnolia Windmill - bordering downtown is a GRE shed with another red duck. The shed is hugging a building, and on the right side of its entrance is a dropdown into a canal. Go inside the shed, and on the right side, on top of a medical cupboard, is the safe, which can be accessed with code 101010.

The fifth of the red ducks is located on a broken and isolated piece of highway in the very top-right corner of the downtown area, just south of GRE Anomaly C-A-83. The duck is located inside a safe in the van, which can be unlocked with the code 741776.

This next one can be found inside a safe in one of the GRE sheds. It's located at the most southern point of Saint Paul Island, just before getting to GRE Anomaly C-A-23. Before going past the watchtower, open the nearby shed with the GRE key and the safe will inside on the right. The code to open it is 851945.

Another red duck is located in New Dawn Park. To the west of Fish Eye Canteen is a set of buildings, follow the monorail track and look for the balcony with two broken windows leading inside. There is a lot of infected inside, so kill them first, and then you can find the safe on the right side of the room, on a shelf behind a desk. The to open the safe is 102864.

That's our full list of Dying Light 2 duck locations so far, but don't forget to check back as we find more ducks and figure out how they apply to their respective secrets.
