Much to the surprise of nobody, The Witcher is far from over. Some huge 2022 reveals hinted the future is bright for the fantasy series, with remakes and original titles in the pipeline for Geralt and his posse.

The upcoming game codenamed Sirius is a particularly compelling one, as a new title developed by The Molasses Flood with support from CD Projekt RED. It promises a compelling single-player experience alongside the opportunity to spread out into multiplayer.

The Witcher: Codename Sirius Looks To Have Co-Op

New job listings have teased some interesting details about the mysterious upcoming Codename Sirius game in The Witcher franchise. It seems to include some kind of co-op mode for players to get involved with.

One Reddit post has pulled together each of CD Projekt RED's job descriptions and revealed all the information they can. If on the money, these listings have revealed a class system, multiple game modes, cinematic storytelling, and more.

Most interestingly, Sirius is looking for staff with experience developing for co-op and PvE experiences, indicating that the title could introduce a new mode for the series that allows Witchers to fight alongside each other.

Is Codename Sirius Basically The Witcher's Division?

With a co-op and PvE system seemingly on the way, players have pointed out something - isn't this basically The Division? Given that the Molasses Flood developed The Flame in the Flood and Drake Hollow with a focus on crafting and exploration, we've got some idea of how things could go.

It certainly seems that way, only with more swordplay than distant assault rifle fire - and it could be a very interesting addition to the mythos of The Witcher.

A co-operative Witcher experience is something that fans haven't really considered, given that fantasy series' leaps into multiplayer has been defined by the likes of World of Warcraft or The Elder Scrolls Online.

If CDPR can pull this off, it could work very nicely with an IP as strong as The Witcher. Whatever comes of Codename Sirius, there's one thing we know, and that's to expect the unexpected.
