"Long live the king" is the war cry from OpTic Texas fans, as Seth "Scump" Abner and the Green Wall have fired themselves back into consideration as the best team in the world, following a trophyless Cold War season.

For an organisation that has been so used to winning over a decade-long professional Call of Duty venture, OpTic's last two seasons (including the Chicago Huntsmen era), have been somewhat underwhelming, although the competition now is at an all-time high.

With Scump's veteran status often attracting retirement talk, OpTic's recent ascendency has seemingly added a few years to his reign as The King, and now a Modern Warfare 2 feature could mean Scump will continue to run terror in the scene for many years to come.

Scump Excited By Modern Warfare 2 Feature

Over the years, Scump has won championships in more titles than any other player, often having strong opinions on which games are the best - which sometimes result in fines.

Despite being extremely cautious about Vanguard, Scump has now revelled in some excitement regarding the upcoming Modern Warfare 2 game, and the fact that they are set to remove the slide-cancelling movement mechanic.

Speaking in the latest episode of the OpTic Podcast, Scump said, "Apparently, there’s not any slide-cancelling next year? That might have just prolonged my career."

The advanced movement mechanic puts strenuous pressure on players' thumbs, often resulting in injuries over the years. Personalities such as Tommy "ZooMaa" Paparatto have been forced to retire due to heightened hand injuries in recent years. Even Sucmp's current teammate Indrevir "iLLeY" Dhaliwal has been sidelined from action because of a thumb injury

"I’ve got to see it come to an end…we’ve had four straight years of slide cancelling. Imagine if we had four years of jetpacks?", continued Scump.

The removal of slide cancelling would see the mechanic scrapped for two years, amid the franchise taking their first annual release hiatus with Modern Warfare 2 spanning for a two-year tenure.

Whether the lack of hand straining will be enough to keep Scump on board is yet to be seen, especially with Doug "Censor" Martin claiming that the development for MW2 2022 is going "sh*t". With hope, the title will live up to expectations, and OpTic fans get to see Scump hoist another World Championship and close in on Ian "Crimsix" Porter's record-breaking haul.
