The badass is back, as it looks like resident Resident Evil villain Albert Wesker could be coming to Capcom's Resident Evil 4 remake.

It's been 18 years since Resident Evil 4 shuffled its way onto the GameCube, and while the game has had nearly as many ports as Skyrim, it's getting a well-deserved new-gen remake like the earlier entries in the series.

Is Albert Wesker In Resident Evil 4?

Although IMDb is a sometimes sketchy source for information, Resident Evil 4's page claims that Connor Fogarty will voice Wesker in the game.

Fogarty provided Wesker's vocals for the recent Dead by Daylight content drop, so it's easy to imagine him reprising the role for RE4.

Despite Wesker's looming presence in the original game - as the man pulling the strings on Ada Wong - he didn't appear in the main campaign.

It's true that Wesker popped up in the beloved Mercenaries mode and was revealed as Ada's employer in the "Separate Ways" bonus content, but seeing more of him would be a big win for the game.

There have been previous rumours that Wesker would appear, with leaked concept art seemingly confirming it before Capcom even made the game official.

What's New In Resident Evil 4?

We know this won't be your standard remake, as Resident Evil 4 has already confirmed there will be more Ada Wong and an improved emphasis on the horror aspects. This would bring it in line with newer entries like RE7 and Village.

The game's description teases more changes, stating how it "preserves the essence of the original game while introducing modernized gameplay, a reimagined storyline, and vividly detailed graphics to make this the latest survival horror game where life and death, terror and catharsis intersect."

Core elements will still be there (obviously), and like it or lump it, but the divisive Island segment still remains. Beyond that, it's anyone's guess as to what will be different.

Wesker is arguably the most famous Resiverse villain and has rightly had major roles in the Milla Jovovich-led movies and short-lived Netflix series. We can't wait to see Albert and his shades back in action.
