It was only a matter of time until someone confirmed Capcom's long-rumoured Resident Evil 4 remake, however, we didn't expect one of its voice actors to reportedly break an NDA to do it. While RE4 was first released on the GameCube in 2005 and has since been ported to pretty much every console since, a new-gen remake has been on the cards for a while.

As easily the best in Capcom's shuffling series, some even hold Resident Evil 4 as one of the best video games of all time. Ditching the tried and tested Raccoon City, the gothic locale of rural Spain was the setting for Leon S. Kennedy's latest adventure. The legacy of RE4 lives strong and can even have its influence felt in this year's Resident Evil Village

Resident Evil 4 Remake: Is It Real?

This jaw-dropping revelation comes from voice actor D.C. Douglas - who is best known for voicing Albert Wesker. Douglas shared concept art of Wesker's role in the Separate Ways side content and captioned the post, "Again - DO NOT SHARE - I could get sued." Sure, we'll be sure to do that.

In case you were questioning the legitimacy of this, Douglas has since deleted his entire Twitter account. Presumably because he's about to get his ass handed to him by Capcom lawyers. Obviously, the artwork has been doing the rounds online, with fans rightly pumped that the Resident Evil 4 remake is finally edging closer.

When Will We Know More About The Resident Evil 4 Remake?

At the time of writing, Capcom hasn't commented on Douglas' claims. Still, news of a Resident Evil 4 remake isn't that surprising. The Capcom ransomware attack revealed the existence of the remake, with claims it has been in the works for four years. Back then, 2022 was pencilled in for the RE4 remake, but the latest leaks claim this could now be 2022.

Remaking Resident Evil 4 was always going to be an easy sell - especially with the recent success of the other remakes. Starting in 2019, Capcom gave RE2 a glossy remake. This was followed by last year's revamp of Resident Evil 3, but there could be a bit of a gap until we return to this world.

Sadly, news of a Resident Evil 4 remake further compounds the idea that we won't be getting a Code - Veronica remake. Logistically, Veronica should be next in the timeline. Sigh, we'll have to make do with fan remakes. At least we should be able to kick Ramon Salazar in the backside sooner rather than later.
