Halo Infinite ‘Leaks’ Battle Royale Mode

Halo Infinite’s multiplayer offerings have endless potential. The revelation that it’d be free-to-play shocked Xbox fans, and has brought about the notion that maybe, just maybe, this could be the best Halo experience yet.

There were rumblings of a battle royale mode, and it’s something that fans have been requesting for the longest time - and in case you mightn’t have believed it before, we now have reason to believe that it’s coming, and it’s been leaked in the absolute best way possible.

Datamining that has taken place during the Halo Infinite beta testing has unveiled some pretty major details, including huge story beats and plot twists (don’t worry, no spoilers here). It’s revealed a good deal of the games, but in the process, it’s finally confirmed that we’re getting a battle royale mode.

It has been discovered in the form of a voice line that was originally posted on ResetEra, with the iconic Halo announcer booming the two words we’ve been waiting to hear - “battle royale”. Chills.

We might be getting our hopes up, but we reckon this could be the real deal.

There’s every chance this is something that was recorded just in case that didn’t get removed from the code or a smaller mode that follows battle royale sensibilities rather than a fully-fledged battle royale game, or honestly, anything else. Chances are that now we’re excited, it could not happen - but we’re cautiously optimistic that 343 industries have been following the incredible success of the genre, and believe that Halo has the chance to compete with the big boys, just like we do.

The game’s multiplayer already looks like incredible fun, but a battle royale mode would be the cherry on the cake. We hope it really is coming because it has the opportunity to put Halo well and truly back on the map.
