Make sure your driving licence is up-to-date, because Forza Horizon 5 has gone gold and is on its way for the November 9 release date.

When a game goes gold, it means development is practically finished. It’s ready to be printed onto discs and loaded into online stores, and most importantly, it’s playable from start to finish. There can still be bug fixes and little tweaks after this stage, but it’s usually saved for the day one patch.

How Do We Know Forza Horizon 5 Has Gone Gold?

Playground Games released a blog post on their website where they announced the game was finished. They also celebrated the occasion by releasing the track list for the upcoming title and explained how they crafted "the most diverse soundtrack in the history of the Horizon festival."

It’s not quite the Guardians of the Galaxy soundtrack that was recently confirmed, but there is a nice selection of music available. The developers also took the time to bring Mexico to life sonically, by partnering with Spanish language artists to represent Latin American musical culture. It’s a nice touch from Playground, that is sure to add a little more depth to the open-world street racing title.

The initial announced track list has been made into a Spotify playlist if you’re wanting to get into the Forza mood early. The current announced songs are:

  • "El Punto Final" by Centavrvs
  • "Weekends" by Classixx, Local Natives
  • "Afrika" by Clubz
  • "Cool Up" by De Lux
  • "Suéltame, Bogotá" by Diamante Eléctrico
  • "Levitating" by Dua Lipa
  • "Heat Waves – Shakur Ahmad Remix" by Glass Animals, Shakur Ahmad

  • "Straight To The Morning (ft. Jarvis Cocker)" by Hot Chip
  • "All Of The Time" by Jungle
  • "Feels So Good" by LUXXURY
  • "Full Heart Fancy" by Lucky Chops
  • "Everything at Your Feet (ft. The Chamanas)" by ODESZA
  • "Midnight Sun" by OTR, Ukiyo
  • "Look At The Sky" by Porter Robinson
  • "Where We Started" by PRXZM
  • "Hello Hello Hello" by Remi Wolf
  • "New Heartbreak" by Sad Alex

What Do We Know About Forza Horizon 5 So Far?

Quite a lot, actually. Microsoft haven’t been shy with details for the game, sharing lots of information on the map and different regions available. They’ve also announced many of the cars, with some curious new additions like the DMC DeLorean from Back to the Future, and a Halo Warthog - as well as the returning favourites from previous entries.

It’s set to be released shortly on November 9, for the Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, select PC platforms, and will be available for Xbox Game Pass on day one.
