Hammer time could be over in Fortnite, as Epic Games confirms its cutting its current season of the battle royale behemoth short.

Following the surprise shuttering of Chapter 3, Epic wasted no time in making the most of Unreal Engine 5.1, overhauling the map, and adding a slew of new mechanics. It seems like only yesterday we were introduced to dirt bikes, the Citadel, and slap berries.

Sadly, all good things must come to an end - and that time has come for Fortnite Chapter 4 Season 1. Don't worry, though, it's not like the game is going anywhere.

What Is The Fortnite Chapter 4 Season 1 End Date?

Taking to Twitter, Epic Games confirmed Fortnite Chapter 4 Season 1 will now end on March 8. Previously, the Battle Pass page listed it as March 10, meaning we're losing a full two days.

Epic didn't clarify why Chapter 4 Season 1 is ending early, but for those who've hacked their way to the top of the Battle Pass and want to see where things go next, they're sure to be happy about the change.

To make up for your lost days, you'll be given a Supercharged XP boost every day from March 2 until the Chapter 4 Season 1 end date on March 8. It's not uncommon for Epic to crank up the XP in a season's final days - bringing you in at its twilight and encouraging you to finish the Battle Pass.

What's Coming To Chapter 4 Season 2?

As with all things Fortnite, the leakers have been hard at work unearthing what's coming next. Namely, with the snow presumably melting, we could see Tilted Towers return from its icy slumber - its clock tower is currently visible under a huge chunk of ice.

Although it's unconfirmed if/when it could land on the map, there have been rumblings of a first-person mode for Fortnite. The title has popularised the third-person battle royale as a way to get you spending those V-bucks on various skins.

Much like the popular no-build mode letting you choose, Fortnite's first-person mode is likely one you'll have to select. As Epic CEO Tim Sweeney has said Creative 2.0 is now targeting March, there's every chance it could release alongside Chapter 4 Season 2.

The big one you're likely asking about is skins. There are no leaks (yet) about which pop culture icons are on the way, but with Fortnite securing a huge Paramount deal, everyone from SpongeBob SquarePants to the Teenage Ninja Turtles could be boarding the Battle Bus.
