Despite the array of reimagined locations from our childhoods being added to the Warzone 2 map Al Mazrah, there was a huge hole left to be yearned for as Highrise's iconic crane was left out of the design and marooned to figures of our memories.

The sniper haven was home to countless game-winning clutches and hours of perfecting Intervention 360s, but with the crane snubbed in Warzone, players were left wanting more.

As a close second, Warzone 2 players will now be able to pop their Tac Inserts down atop a familiar desert wreckage point, and finally, pull off some showboating kills to relive the golden age of Call of Duty.

Afghan Appears As A Warzone 2 POI In Season 2

Afghan might not have been the most invigorating map from the original MW2, but it did make for some of the most intuitive skills that the franchise has ever allowed. Now, it's joining its 14-year-old brothers in Al Mazrah.

The crashed plane site has been confirmed as a Warzone 2 POI, joining Quarry, Terminal, and the aforementioned Highrise on the map.

We're not yet sure where the POI will be located on the Al Mazrah map, although most of this similar terrain is found around the outskirts of the map - presumably up near Oasis.

Will Afghan Come As A MW2 Map?

Afghan's inclusion comes as the first adaptation to Al Mazrah since Warzone 2 was released, and from the pre-released footage, the entire multiplayer design appears to be in tact. You might be able to spot that the mountain passageways are visible.

However, this doesn't mean it's arriving in Modern Warfare 2. Neither Highrise, Quarry, nor Terminal can be played in MW2, and from the Season 2 roadmap, it's clear that only Dome and Museum will arrive as 6v6 maps in the coming weeks.

There is a chance that these maps could all arrive together in a later update, but for now, they are being held as Warzone exclusives. At least you'll be able to try and get your trick shots in the battle royale game.
