Xbox stands are miffed at 343 Industries. Also, the sky is blue. Halo fans keeping their gripes with the franchise's current overseers is one of those constants in the gaming industry that never seems to let up.

After the soaring highs of Bungie's ownership, we've had the bludgeoning lows of 343's tenure. The Master Chief Collection, Halo 5, the ongoing missing content in Halo Infinite - it keeps on rolling.

Now, players have moved from active frustration to complete defeat. But, 343 Industries has tried to assuage fan worries with a new statement.

343 Industries Release Strange, Ominous Statement

After absolutely nobody asked, 343 Industries has stepped up to the plate to announce to Twitter that it's not planning on going anywhere.

Fans have been angered by 343's additions to the Halo mythos and franchise, so this announcement is going to be more upsetting than reassuring, but regardless, it's here.

"Halo and Master Chief are here to stay," says studio head Pierre Hintze in the Twitter announcement. "343 Industries will continue to develop Halo now and in the future, including epic stories, multiplayer, and more of what makes Halo great."

For those who are still waiting for a fully functioning Halo Infinite, or are wondering what ever happened to that mythical DLC, it's likely to only rub more salt in the wound.

Why Are 343 Industries Making This Statement?

A long line of important staff members at 343 stepping down from their positions is likely the reason for the developer making the strange announcement that it'll keep producing for its biggest property.

The company's boss Bonnie Ross was perhaps the most intense departure for the company, with David Berger and Tom French adding fuel to the apparent fire. This was recently followed up by Infinite director Joseph Staten jumping ship,

It has been theorised that the IP for Halo could be stripped of 343 Industries due to such losses and apparent internal meltdowns, but this new statement seems to disprove that.

We'll have to wait and see whether Microsoft's mass layoffs will affect legacy franchises like Halo and Gears of War. Fans and naysayers, you're going to have to come to the same conclusion - 343 is in for the long haul.
