One of the greatest parts of modern gaming is being able to preload games ahead of their official launch and jump straight in when the time comes. It’s made things much more accessible and is one of the biggest perks when it comes to digital gaming. Sure, it’s nice to have a physical release on your shelf, but the ease of access digital downloads bring is unmatched.

Sonic Frontiers is one of the most anticipated games to be launching in the second half of 2022, and with it, many are curious as to when they can get downloading the game. Not only that but there are many other factors to account for, such as the game’s file size. If you want to know everything about the Sonic Frontiers preload, including how much space you’re going to need, we have all you need.

When Can You Preload Sonic Frontiers?

The good news is yes, you can preload Sonic Frontiers as of November 6th. This allows you to have the game ready for its official launch on November 8th. There is no early access for the game, so you will have to wait until it unlocks in your region before jumping in. However, pre-downloading the game ensures you won’t have to wait around when the time comes.

Additionally, any updates that come out between the preload and launch will be automatically downloaded if your console and PC settings are set to do so.

If you’re looking to get some space ready for Sonic Frontiers’ launch, here are the file sizes across all platforms at the time of writing:

  • PS4: 23.09 GB
  • PS5: 24.719 GB
  • Xbox One, Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S: 26.86
  • PC: Minimum of 30 GB

The file sizes are related to Version 1.01 of Sonic Frontiers, meaning any further updates could alter the overall size in some capacity. But at least you now have all the information you need to download Sonic Frontiers and prepare for the game’s launch later this week.
