As it is an Extraction Shooter after all, understandably the most important thing that you need to know is how to extract in MW2 DMZ. While escaping is not the only thing you need to do in Modern Warfare 2's new game mode, it is the thing that secures your safety and stops your gear from being lost forever - at least until the next game. So, to find out how to extract in MW2 DMZ, have a read on down below.

In order to extract in MW2 DMZ, you must make your way to one of the extraction zones, call in your extraction, and wait for it to take off, escorting you to safety. There are typically around three extraction zones marked on your map at the start of each game, but these will change and be inaccessible once the radiation zone expands.

It will eventually reach a point in DMZ where there is only one extraction point left, and if you miss it, or if it becomes consumed by the radiation zone, then you will be left MIA and presumed dead.

Calling in a helicopter does not ensure your safety or survival though - quite the opposite. It will immediately alert other players to your presence, giving them a chance to not only take you by surprise, but also steal your way out.

Multiple teams can take the same extraction, with players even being given the option of hilariously hanging onto the wings as a last resort. If you're on your own with some hefty contraband, then maybe the best choice you have is to hide in a bush by an extraction zone, and then jump out last minute onto the wings and escape.

As mentioned, failure to extract will mean that most of your loadout and backpack items will be lost, with the most notable exception being Weapon Blueprints, which simply become unavailable for a short period of time.

That's all you need to know if you were wondering how to extract in MW2 DMZ, so you should now be able to secure your safety in Al Mazrah more often. If you were wondering does MW2 DMZ have perks, then we've got all the answers for you in this guide here.
