Whether it’s pride to show off your skills or entertainment to spend the time, there is plenty to play for when playing League of Legends. Upon playing and finishing matches, players earn an exclusive currency named Orange Essence.

Much like Blue Essence, its orange counterpart serves a similar purpose in League of Legends just in a different way. But how does it work?

Here’s how to use Orange Essence in League of Legends.

League Of Legends Orange Essence: How To Use

Similar to currencies in other video game titles League of Legends players can use Orange Essence to craft Shards into Permanent cosmetics.

These include:

  • Buying new Champion Skins
  • Buying new Ward Skins
  • Buying new Summoner Icons
  • Buying new Emotes
  • Unlock Eternals

Essentially, with Orange Essence, players can craft skins and other cosmetics in the Hextech Shop, transforming bits and pieces, or shards, of the desired cosmetic into permanent cosmetics.

League of Legends players can earn Orange Essence through various means.

Below are all of the options:

  • Buying it in the in-game store via the 5 Hextech Chests and Keys Bundle
  • Participating in events - some event missions offer Orange Essence
  • Disenchanting skin shards from chests into Orange Essence
  • Hextech Chest and Masterwork Chest drops
  • Prime Gaming Capsule - it offers 200 Orange Essence

That’s it! League players can view Orange Essence as the more expensive and rare Blue Essence. Although this essence it’s hard to come by, it allows players to purchase higher-quality cosmetics.

  • Need help earning Mythic Essence in League? Here’s how.
