Dead by Daylight crossplay has been in the game for a while now, bringing players from all platforms together. Dead by Daylight is an asymmetrical multiplayer game that benefits greatly from having a much bigger player base to pull from. The biggest advantage of crossplay is of course that friends can play together regardless of their platform of choice. To learn more about how it works, check out our Dead by Daylight crossplay guide.

If you would like to make use of the crossplay functionality, you need to enable it. The option will be presented to you when you first launch the game, but can also be activated afterwards. To do so, head to the Options menu. Under the General menu, down at the bottom, you should see an Online heading. Here you can select to turn crossplay on or off.

Having crossplay turned on will mean you can play with friends on other platforms, and also means there is a much bigger pool of players for matchmaking. This should mean that you will find games quicker overall, so crossplay is good news for everyone.

In order to play with friends on other platforms, you will have to add them to your friend list. To do so, go to the friends list and click the friend icon with the plus on it. Here you can search for your friend's username, including the hashtag and four digits after it. Once added, you and your friend can join up and play games together.

While the crossplay situation is pretty much perfect, cross-progression is less ideal. There is a degree of cross-progression in the game, but it is not universal. Currently, you can carry over your progress between Steam, Epic Games Store, and Stadia. While the hope is to include consoles in cross-progression somewhere down the line, it isn't yet possible to do.

As regards what cross-progression means, it means that you have access to all your unlocked progress and your purchased content regardless of which platform you play on. So, should you play Dead by Daylight on Epic Game Store and want to move to the Steam version, or if you want to take your game on the go with Stadia, you can do so with all your content intact.

To do this, you need to create a Behaviour Account on the Behaviour Interactive website. Create your account, then link your accounts from supported platforms. Hopefully, this will include the consoles in the near future.

That is everything there is to know about Dead by Daylight crossplay. To learn more about the game, why not check out our guide to Dead by Daylight codes to get your hands on some free Bloodpoints.
