Yet three years later, It Takes Two was released completely blowing the expectation of what a co-op adventure game could do. Playing as Cody and/or May, It Takes Two sees a couple on the brink of divorce shrunk into little dolls, where they must traverse their enlarged surroundings together to return to normal. Somehow the game manages to keep its gameplay fresh and entertaining across its lengthy campaign. Yet the best thing about it all is that with Friend's Pass only one of you has to actually own the game to play together. Unsurprisingly, It Takes Two also made it into our best local co-op games.
