Fade will be exclusive to Apex Legends Mobile until we're told otherwise. It is entirely possible that Fade will be added to other versions of the game and it would be strange if that didn’t happen eventually.

For now, there is no indication of how long Fade will be exclusive to Apex Legends Mobile, so we will have to wait and see when Fade will be available on PC and consoles.

Before the official announcement and release of the game, there was a leak about Fade's abilities in Apex Legends Mobile that has lined up well with what we have experienced in-game.

Here are all of Fade's abilities and a short description of what they do:

  • Passive: Slipstream - Gives Fade a short movement speed boost after sliding. This passive has a 10-second cooldown after sliding eliminating any potential for spamming the ability.
  • Tactical: Flash Back - Activate Flash Back to teleport back two seconds to a previous spot using the Void. Flash Back has a slightly longer cooldown compared to Fade's passive coming in at 20 seconds.
  • Ultimate: Phase Chamber - Releases a phase cage and sends all Legends within this area-of-effect (AoE) into the Void.

As previously stated, Fade's Ultimate is called Phase Chamber and utilizes the Void akin to other Legends such as Ash and Wraith.

If a player becomes engulfed by the Void, their movement speed is slowed and their location is marked on the map. However, these players are also invulnerable during this time so this ultimate should be used more to gain a better position over your opponents.

Do keep in mind though, Phase Chamber's AoE does affect your allies as well as your adversaries so be careful when launching your phase cage into the fray.

If you're a fan of characters with exceptional movement, or abilities to hinder your opponents' movement, Fade with be an instant hit. Fade can be useful in a number of different ways but he is most effective in the heat of battle.

Utilising both his passive and tactical in quick succession to almost bamboozle enemies is a particularly useful combination, especially considering you will be playing on a mobile device where the screen is much smaller than that of a monitor, thus potentially vanishing from view immediately.

Fade's ultimate also excels when in combat. Using this will not only remove enemies' ability to get away, but it will also show their location on the map. Additionally, Phase Chamber is fantastic for deterring third parties allowing you to dispatch the current squad before entering another battle.

Fade's real name is Ignacio Huamani and is certainly a complex character with a tragic background.

He comes from a family of military-tech hunters who scavenged guns and more for selling to simply survive. In an effort to bring in some more funds, Fade took up a contract to find a simulacrum suit for a mysterious and ultimately dangerous client.

After completing the contract, his family were attacked and killed due to it being a trap. Fade, however, escaped using the simulacrum suit.

He is now taking part in the Apex Games to not only avenge his family but also attempt to find the killers and dispatch them.
