You Can Currently Get All Three BioShock Games For Free
We all love a good bargain, and when it comes to video games, what's better than a free one? For once, we aren't talking about Activision giving you a free Call of Duty: Vanguard weekend or Ubisoft doing the same with Far Cry 6 to tempt you in. This is a full-blown AAA release for absolutely nothing, meaning you can get all three BioShock games for free.
There are few trilogies that can be classed as perfect - as The Godfather and Star Wars will testify. But in the wide world of gaming, 2K's BioShock is a rare jewel in the crown. After two entries of diving deep into the underwater nightmare of Rapture, the developers took a gamble and soared high to Columbia for a brand-new setting.
How Can You Get BioShock For Free?
Epic Games is continuing its domination of the market, as the Epic Mega Sale unveils its next big freebie. Following in the footsteps of Gearbox's Borderlands 3 going free, BioShock: The Collection is rising from the deep. The Epic Mega Sale is running from May 19 to June 16 and is slashing the prices on over 1600 games by up to 75%.
Away from discount prices, there are also mystery games being given away for free across the promotion. Released in 2016, BioShock: The Collection includes upgraded versions of 2007's BioShock, its 2010 sequel, and 2013's Infinite. Even though they look a little rusty by today's standards, it's one hell of a giveaway considering it's currently $59.99/£39.99 on Steam.
Better yet, this is everything from the BioShock universe. It means lucky gamers will get all three main games and the various DLCs/expansions. For those wondering how Infinite connects to Rapture, we suggest you definitely play the Burial at Sea DLCs. Is There A BioShock 4?
Click to enlargeWhile we'd once given up all hope of seeing a fourth entry in the series, it turns out that tantalising tease of every lighthouse being a door was too good an opportunity to pass up on. 2K's newly formed Cloud Chamber is working on BioShock 4, which could be one of this generation's big hitters. Sadly, there's still no BioShock 4 release date, and details are thin on the ground.
At the time of writing, there are a flurry of rumours, with a potential BioShock 4 map revealing two cities fighting a "vertical war" as upside-down versions of each other. In terms of other features, we're promised a proper new-gen game that's being described as an "emergent sandbox." Only recently, Cloud Chamber job listings hinted that development is finally underway. Still, we'd like to say "would you kindly" hurry up with BioShock 4. It's been nearly a decade since the last one!
