If you weren't sold on the Skyrim Anniversary Edition adding fishing to Tamriel, fear not, Bethesda has a whole cauldron of new content for the Dragonborn to slash their way through. Since the release of The Elder Scrolls: Arena in 1994, the franchise has continued to grow, but as Bethesda celebrates a decade of Skyrim, its biggest entry yet is getting a little bigger.

With the Skyrim Anniversary Edition just around the corner, Bethesda has kept its cards close to its chest about what's on the way. Considering the modding community has kept the OG game alive and well - and the fact we're still discovering new breeds of spider a decade later - some have asked if we even need a new release.

What New Missions Are Coming To The Skyrim Anniversary Edition?

The official Bethesda site has revealed what new content is on the way to the Skyrim Anniversary Edition. Here, the developer explained how missions will connect to Morrowind and Oblivion. If you thought Skyrim was old, Oblivion came out in 2006 and Morrowind came out in 2002 to form what we consider the "modern" era of the franchise.

Bethesda's post adds, "In Ghosts of the Tribunal you’ll earn over a dozen new weapons and armors previously featured in The Elder Scrolls 3: Morrowind, while The Cause has players encounter the Mythic Dawn, who aim to form a new Oblivion gate, and features brand-new enemies, locations, and weapons – not to mention a conjurable Daedric horse!"

Despite Skyrim being set 200 years after Oblivion and 206 years after Morrowind, the predecessors did an amazing job of shaping this world in terms of story and growing an Elder Scrolls fanbase. Skyrim might have told its own story, but that doesn't mean there weren't nods to what came before it.

What Else Is Included In The Skyrim Anniversary Edition?

The Anniversary Edition will launch on November 11 and is effectively the Skyrim Special Edition, every piece of Creation Club content (over 500), and a couple of other perks. There's not much that's new, but if you're one of those peeved players who already owns the Skyrim Special Edition, you'll get four pieces of Creation Club content - including the likes of fishing mode and survival mode.

Finally, Skyrim Special Edition players will get SE the "Saints & Seducers" storyline and Rare Curios where Khajiit merchants offer you new potion ingredients and other rare items. Be warned though, it's expected that a lot of mods we've come to love won't be compatible with the new Skyrim

Whether you think the Skyrim Anniversary Edition is just a cheap repackaging to get us forking over the cash for a game that's 10 years old, or whether it's worth a revisit, we're sure it's going to be top of the charts in the next few weeks.
