Twitch was ablaze with controversy this weekend as the latest Twitch Rivals competition became a flurry of rage and accusations of stream sniping. At the centre of the debacle is Felix "xQc" Lengyel, who has copped flak from the likes of Michael "Shroud" Grzesiek and Tyler "Tyler1" Steinkamp. In particular, Shroud isn't happy with xQc and says he's lost all respect for the superstar streamer.

Things came to a head in Saturday's Twitch rivals that saw xQc hold back a fellow player after he'd already been eliminated. Shroud was on DrLupo’s team alongside Tyler1 and has said that because there was an $11,000 cash prize, xQc has broken Twitch's Ts & Cs. Shroud has previously been vocal about stream snipers, however, we never expected someone with a profile as big as xQc to be caught in the crossfire.

During the match that would decide third place, xQc was seen holding players back so his teammate could place higher. We've all seen stream sniping in action, but jaws were on the floor as no one really knew what to think seeing such a high profile player doing it. Discussing xQc's stream sniping, Shroud said, "Now he does that, and all my respect is quite literally gone, all of it, out the window".

Shroud continued, “No big partner has ever done that. I am so shocked because I don’t know what’s going to happen, I don’t even think Twitch knows. I don’t know if they’re going to ban him for a week, a month, three days? I have no idea". Tyler1 suggested that xQc get a harsh warning instead of a ban, but at the time of writing, there hasn't been any punishment.

When it comes to the stream sniping drama, xQc has publically apologised on Twitter. He asked for his fans to stop defending him, saying he doesn't deserve to be defended. Still, others have kicked off at xQc apologising. One fan responded, "No way u b*tched it and said sorry, kinda sad".

Lengyel is a particularly vocal streamer and has recently butted heads with Imane "Pokimane" Anys while playing Among Us. Pokimane said playing the social deduction game with xQc wasn't fun, while the man himself claimed he was stopping playing Among Us due to the hate he'd been receiving. This wasn't the case and he's still very much part of InnerSloth's outer space murderfest.

Whether there will be any repercussions from his Fall Guys snipe remains to be seen. Some have suggested xQc could be banned from further Twitch Rivals competitions. Either way, Shroud as the rest of the streamer community isn't exactly singing xQc's praises right now.
