It's almost time to return to the Sinnoh region, with Pokefans gearing up worldwide for the release of Pokemon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl.

Back in February 2021, The Pokemon Company delighted fans by announcing there would be not just one, but three upcoming releases in the Pokemon gaming series. This included their first attempt at a MOBA (Multiplayer online battle arena), Pokemon UNITE, a remake of Pokemon Diamond and Pearl, as well as a brand new open-world title.

Is there a new shiny hunting method in Pokemon Diamond and Pearl?

With the release impending on November 19, rumours have begun to swirl about a new method for shiny hunting that will be incorporated within Pokemon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl.

At present, finding a Shiny Pokemon is pure luck - although there are ways you can speed up the process. For example, in Sword and Shield, you can create multiple eggs of your desired shiny Pokemon by partnering it with a Ditto from another country. Of course, this could take hours and depends on the dedication and amount of time you're willing to spend actually hatching the eggs by biking around the Wild Area over and over again.

The rumours about the new method first started after a reputable leaker by the name of 'Riddler_Khu' teased new game features in the form of riddles, and one of those involved Pal Park - which was a region in the previous game.

In the original game, Pal Park was a place where you could re-catch Pokemon that may have been obtained in earlier games, but a later tweet seemed to show an image of a Shiny Ponyta with the caption 'How lucky!', leading to many theories that Pal Park would now be a shiny hunting ground.

While it's important to remember that this is just rumours and speculation at the moment, it could be a very exciting change for the series if true - and could alter the way players collect their Pokemon!

When Does Pokemon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl release?

Pokemon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl releases on November 19, 2021. The game can currently be pre-ordered from the Nintendo eShop or any retailers stocking the physical game copy.

On November 1, the first TV advert was released for the game, proving that the countdown is well and truly on to return to the Sinnoh region once again.

It won't be much longer for Pokemon fans to wait for another title, as Pokemon Legends: Arceus arrives in January 2022. Don't forget to check our guides on the best Arceus starter Pokemon and the confirmed Pokemon that will be landing in-game before it releases!
