Fortnite is, in many ways, like the heart of the creative industry. It might sound a little mad, but think about it - is there any other game, film, or other creative media that features such a collaboration of intellectual properties? The battle royale title has become somewhere that hundreds of recognisable characters can congregate and blast each other to bits. From the worlds of DC, Marvel, Star Wars and even Rick & Morty, the game is a melting pot of “hey, I know that character!” moments that keep a lot of players attached to the game.

And of course, the list of recognisable characters keeps growing - and it looks like anime is next to join the game, as a shonen legend is now set to join the battle.

Naruto Leaked For Next Fortnite Battle Pass

It has been confirmed in small circles of leakers that the legendary ninja Naruto will be joining Fortnite very soon.

According to notorious Fortnite leaker HYPEX, when chief creative officer for Epic Games Donald Mustard met with a member of the esports team Exvolved, he had confirmed to him that the anime icon would be joining the game in the next battle pass.

Fortnite has dabbled with anime skin styles and aesthetics in the past releasing some anime-style skins, but this would be the game’s first real intellectual property from the animation style.

The news has got a lot of people talking, though - could this mean that we’re getting an anime theme for the next battle pass?

With this reveal, and along with the fact that introducing the game’s very first anime character is a pretty big deal, there’s a chance that the next battle pass could bring about some more anime icons.

There’s plenty of characters that would be welcomed to the game with open arms by fans of both the game and their respective series. Eren Yeager from Attack On Titan, Edward and Alphonse Elric from Full Metal Alchemist and Monkey D. Luffy from One Piece would go down a treat - and it’s hardly worth mentioning at this point, but if Epic Games could pull it off, fans would be able to realise their “who would win” fantasies by pitting Superman against Dragon Ball Z’s Goku.

The arrival of an anime-themed battle pass is unconfirmed, but frankly, it would be a great idea for Epic Games. There’s a lot of fans waiting, and to be perfectly honest - they have to run out of Western properties eventually. It’s time to pull out the big guns.
