The exuberant experience that is League of Legends has encapsulated the minds of millions of gamers and esports fanatics, and a large part comes down to its exhilarating production and broadcasting.

British-born Aaron "Medic" Chamberlain is one of the top talents of casting and most recently inspired many with his antics during the World Championships 2020. However, when he's not cracking alliterative commentary, he downs his thesaurus and wields a keyboard and mouse, playing Hades at breakneck speed.

Hades is a roguelike action role-playing game in which players attempt to escape the underworld whilst controlling Zagreus, son of Hades. Having to fight through a number of rooms and overcome enemies with the help of other gods such as Zeus, players can fly through the game as quickly as possible, creating "speed runs".

Medic is also known for attempting to become one of the fastest speedrunners on titles such as Hades, and he has now broken the world record. Completing the game in just six minutes and 29 seconds, the caster has bettered the best time by 15 seconds, a significant margin with such small time frames.

The world record is in accordance to Speedrun.com, of which medic appreciates this his record may have been bettered by someone outside of the site. He stated on Twitter that "That's submitted runs to speedrun.com. I mean. Yeah, impressive being the best-submitted run.

"People who submit their runs are the absolute minority, so I doubt it's actually the fastest in the world. Still impressive."

The previous record was held by French player Lili, who completed the game in 6:44. Now, with the record smashed, Medic may hold this record for some time.
