Ahead of the World Cup 2022 in Qatar, Activision appears to be releasing three professional footballers as operators in Modern Warfare 2 and Warzone 2.

Like many titles, the World Cup comes as an ample opportunity to sprinkle some entertaining collaborations into Call of Duty - possibly taking inspiration from the likes of Fortnite, which added Neymar and Harry Kane in years gone by.

Having found an appetite for creative crossovers and expensive bundles in recent years, it now appears that Call of Duty is wanting to add three professional footballers to Modern Warfare 2, in the form of Neymar, Lionel Messi, and Paul Pogba.

Messi, Neymar, and Pogba Set To Become MW2 Operators

According to the popular leaker "TheGhotsOfHope", Messi, Neymar, and Pogba have been found to be 'unreleased operators' for Modern Warfare 2

Joining the dark destroyer, Roze, the three footballers could appear in a World Cup bundle, arriving as early as mid-November.

The additions might then sport their respective country's jerseys, with Neymar in a signature yellow Brazil kit, Pogba in the deep blue of France, and Messi in the fur of a GOAT - or the white and sky blue stripes of Argentina.

Uplink Could Return As Part Of A World Cup Bundle

This may be more speculation rather than facts and leaks, but TheGhotsOfHope also detailed that Messi, Neymar, and Pogba could be added alongside the game mode Uplink, all of which will be a celebration of the World Cup.

Uplink, a fan-favourite amongst the competitive community, is a game mode which involves a ball being passed up and down the map and thrown (or possibly kicked in this theory) into a goal at either end. The popular twist on sports adds a pressing and momentum-based tactical prowess to normal Call of Duty gunplay, relying on communication and sparks of individual brilliance.

Uplink might be a long shot, but it appears there will be no VAR check ruling out the arrival of the troublesome trio of footballers.
