GTA Trilogy Players Are Demanding Refunds

It was always going to be a struggle reinventing noughties classics for a 2021 audience, however, some think Rockstar Games has failed in spectacular style with the GTA Trilogy. Repackaging the beloved GTA III, Vice City, and San Andreas with a few graphical tweaks should've been relatively easy, so how has Rockstar got it so wrong?

Despite the latest GTA game quickly rocketing up the charts and flying off shelves like nobody's business, it's already been struck by a myriad of problems. As well as just general complaints it doesn't look that good, Rockstar also pulled the trilogy from sale on PC, with some already calling it this year's Cyberpunk 2077 - wowzers.

Why Do GTA Trilogy Players Want A Refund?

There are glitches galore running through Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy - The Definitive Edition, and a quick scan of socials makes for some grim reading. One disgruntled PC player wrote, "Reminder @RockstarGames owes all of us who bought GTA Trilogy on PC a full refund. I'm sure this violates some European consumer rights law somewhere."

Another fumed, "F**k it refund me f**k your mistakes. I wanted to enjoy gta but if you going to have issues that locks the offline games i don't want to deal with it. Please refund me as soon as possible". A third simply said, "GTA Trilogy = Cyberpunk = Refund = disgrace SMH!!!!"

Rockstar has obviously noticed the potential riot on its hands and assured players things will get better. After announcing the Rockstar Games Launcher is back up and running, the account added, "We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience, and are working to improve and update overall performance as we move forward." There's one small problem with that Rockstar, when will that be?

Can The GTA Trilogy Be Fixed?

It's sadly a case of too little too late. It seems problems with the GTA Trilogy are entrenched in the game itself, meaning any form of fix would be much more than just an update. Then again, Cyberpunk 2077 has fared a little better since CD Projekt Red has continued working on the troubled title. The GTA Trilogy had been teased/leaked for a long time, but we've got to admit, things seemed a little rushed from announcement to release.

We understand why Rockstar would push through a release - even when it possibly wasn't ready - with the developer undoubtedly wanting to make the most of the holiday season. Still, for every hater that thinks the GTA Trilogy isn't worthy of its new-gen price tag, there are another thousand who love this spruced up trip down memory lane. Even if this sounds like a marketing nightmare for Rockstar, there's no escaping the fact the team is sitting pretty on a throne of money.
