SypherPK Discovers Secret Fortnite Season 5 Easter Egg
The Infinity Gauntlets may have been off with the Marvel-themed Fortnite Chapter 2 Season 4, but as Epic games catapults its story forward, it looks like Season 5 is just as keen to keep the action flowing.
Although Season 5 didn't round off with a cataclysmic event that wiped out the map (similar to Season X's "The End"), Galactus' assault tore open the Zero Point and definitely set the wheels in motions for Chapter 2's endgame. As we absorb what's new in this wide world, Ali "SypherPK" Hassan has discovered a secret Fortnite Season 5 Easter egg.
There's been a lot to take in with Season 5, and SypherPK has already given praise to the new NPCs. In Season 5, you can interact with them, complete side quests, and earn gold. There's also the return of Tilted Towers - albeit merged with Salty Shore to make the new Salty Towers POI. Hassan has clearly been exploring the map, however, in Season 5, he had one mission at the top of his to-do list.
Fortnite Season 5 Easter egg: What is it?
With SypherPK being a legend in Fortnite circles, his fans have been calling for him to be honured in-game. The content creator took this in his stride and gave Epic Games his own suggestion to see if developers really do listen to him. In a November 2 video, SypherPK ran through ideas fans had suggested, including a weather station POI named after him or a Mythic Boss. Going a little more simple, Hassan asked the devs put a "How to Win" book somewhere in the game to honour his popular series. Back then, Hassan said they needed "something that’s very simple". He explained, "We want to add a book to Fortnite, to the weather station, yes a ‘How to Win’ book'".
SypherPK said you wouldn't even need to read the book in-game, and it could just sit on a bookshelf, but wondered whether it would be added in the near future. Jump forward to Season 5, and voila, one "How to Win" book has landed on the map. As soon as Galactus had been banished and Fortnite was back from its downtime, SypherPK dashed over to the weather station to see if his wish had come true.
Fortnite Season 5 Easter egg: How does it work?
SypherPK ran to the weather station to see what was waiting for him. Simply writing, "They actually did it... Thank you @FortniteGame", he tracked down his "How to Win" book. It was also weirdly interactive. Hassan was shocked at how the book bounced around the map in front of him. Better yet, it appears to be indestructible, meaning jealous players won't be able to destroy SypherPK's memorial.
The question now is whether this is it for Epic paying tribute to SypherPK. Players have been championing him to get his own skin for as long as we remember, but for now, its just a pipe dream. We've already seen Lachlan Ross Power (Lachlan) Tyler "Ninja" Blevins, Kathleen "Loserfruit" Belsten, and David Cánovas Martínez (TheGrefg) make up the ranks of the Icon Series, with SypherPK tipped to join them one day.
