'Explicit' Amouranth Documentary Clips Get Twitch Streamer Banned
Twitch streamer, ItsSliker, has become one of the latest content creators to be banned from the platform after he showed clips from a documentary about Amouranth, which apparently contained "explicit" images.
Amazon-owned platform, Twitch, hasn't been taking it easy on streamers who have supposedly broken the rules, as content creators have been taken down left, right, and centre. However, that doesn't them from fighting against their bans. For example, Herschel "Dr Disrespect" Beahm IV has been very vocal about his 'shocking' and 'unfair' Twitch ban, but we still don't know the reason why exactly.
Whereas, over on Twitter, Twitch streamer ItsSliker revealed that he had been banned from the streaming platform for "explicit sex content" in one of his videos. While it wasn't specified which incident the notification was referring to, the ban came not long after ItsSliker had streamed his watch of a VICE YouTube documentary about Kaitlyn "Amouranth" Siragusa.
Why Was ItsSliker Banned From Twitch?
On January 1, ItsSliker shared a screenshot of a notification from Twitch informing him that he had been banned. According to the notification, the move was due to one of the streamer's videos, called 'Better year trust me', containing "accidental nudity or explicit sex content." While the video is now unavailable to watch, it was reported that ItsSliker had been watching a new VICE documentary about Amouranth which, chances are, lead to the ban.
There were some fans who questioned why exactly ItsSliker was targeted for the ban when other streamers, such as Matthe "Mizkif" Rinaudo and Hasan "HasanAbi" Piker, also watched the documentary on their streams. However, fans claimed that this was due to the fact that they were able to block certain parts of the documentary which might be seen as "explicit" given as, unlike ItsSliker, they were warned prior to streaming it.
Streamers can have a stressful time when it comes to navigating their way around the internet and acceptable content which successfully passes through Twitch's censorship. However, it can often lead to some accidentally sharing explicit material to their viewers. For example, Imane "Pokimane" Anys risked being banned after accidentally stumbling on a NSFW Anime while live on Twitch.
What Was Amouranth's Documentary About?
The VICE Documentary was shared on YouTube on December 30, 2021. In the 27-minute video, Amouranth revealed details about her day-to-day life and how she has managed to build her incredible streaming career. Claiming that she makes $1.5 million a month, Amouranth explained that her plan is to use the platform to save up as much money as possible to achieve her dream of running an animal sanctuary.
However, it hasn't all been plain sailing for Amouranth. Throughout her career, the streamer has had to deal with a fair amount of trolls who have criticised her "explicit" content and questioned how she hasn't been permanently banned from the platform.
ItsSliker was only banned from for one day. However, this is just further proof that when it comes to making sure streamers stick to the rules, Twitch isn't pulling any punches.
