Dying Light 2 Has Been Delayed On Switch
Dying Light has some big competition upon launch. February is going to be a big month for gaming, and a lot of fans are currently saving their pennies for Horizon Forbidden West and Elden Ring, while others will still be reeling from the release of Pokemon Legends: Arceus. And, sandwiched in there on the fourth, is Dying Light 2. Crikey.
Though most consoles are returning to the undead action very soon, it turns out that Switch players are going to have to wait a lot longer to get their hands on the sequel.
Why Has Dying Light 2 Been Delayed On Switch?
Sadly, the Switch cloud version of Dying Light 2 won't be coming at the same time as its Xbox and PlayStation counterparts, as Techland has announced it's working on bringing the game to the console as soon as possible.
According to VGC, Dying Light 2 is likely to stay in development and will aim to launch before six months from the original launch date is met.
"Techland aims to deliver the game to the Nintendo Switch family within six months from the original date," reads the press release from the game's team.
Techland made the decision "in order to provide fans with the gaming experience at the level they deserve and that Techland wants to provide."
This is a move that makes sense if the game is falling behind, but with the title's ridiculous size, it's no surprise that it needs a lot of work.
How Long Is Dying Light 2?
As the Dying Light Twitter account has dramatically reported, the upcoming game is obscenely large, and if fans want to really get stuck in, they've got plenty to explore.
Though the sequel's main story can be beaten in around 20 hours, the team has claimed that in order to fully complete the game, it'll take a whopping 500 hours.
Seeing all the sights and touching on all the side missions seems like a monolith task with a number like this, but either way, we're excited to take the game for a spin. Though we'll have to wait a little longer to give it a go on Switch, it seems like it could be worth the wait.
