Kaitlyn "Amouranth" Siragusa has regularly had to deal with haters telling her she doesn't belong on Twitch. However, the streamer has revealed that it was in fact who originally invited her to start streaming on the platform in the first place.

Amouranth may have been crowned 2021's most popular female Twitch streamer, but the road to Twitch domination certainly hasn't been an easy one. The 28-year-old has been banned from the Amazon-owned platform on numerous occasions, with many critics using it as a sign that she shouldn't be allowed to continue with her Twitch career.

However, Amouranth has thrown this argument back in the face of her haters, by stating in an interview with YouTuber Anthony Padilla, that it was actually Twitch that originally approached her about streaming.

What Did Amouranth Do Before Becoming A Streamer?

In the interview with Padilla, Amouranth stated that before becoming a streamer, her main hobby was cosplaying. A quick peek at Amouranth's Twitter page will show how she has showed-off cosplaying skills as Wonder Woman, Catwoman, and Lena Oxton from Overwatch

Amouranth further revealed to Padilla that she was able to apply her incredible costuming skills in a paid role, also. The streamer said: "For work, I actually had a character company that I owned, and we would go to birthday parties or do hospital visits for kids as Disney princesses. It was like a dream job."

Did Twitch Invite Amouranth To Start Streaming On The Platform?

Following on from revealing she previously owned a character company, Amouranth revealed that Twitch actually approached her to start streaming on the platform. She claimed: "In 2016, they invited me because they had this creative category. Which is funny because now people are like "get off of our platform, Twitch is for gamers!" Twitch invited me to stream!"

However, it wasn't until the 'hot tube meta' started in 2021 that Amouranth's popularity exploded. She revealed that within 30 minutes of streaming from her inflatable indoor pool she peaked at 30k viewers, leaving her wondering "why haven't I been doing this my whole career?"

So, next time Amouranth is hit with haters telling to keep off Twitch because "it's for gamers", she has the perfect response to prove that she well and truly belongs on the platform.
