Kaitlyn "Amouranth" Siragusa has called out hateful comments from some of her fans for saying that aspiring female content creators can only be successful if they "look like supermodels."

As 2021's most popular female Twitch streamer, Amouranth isn't afraid to clap back at misogynistic trolls who send her hateful comments or try to belittle her career in any way. With 5.2 million followers on Twitch, Amouranth has proved herself not only to be hugely popular in terms of views but in terms of her dedicated fanbase also. This was especially apparent when she received the award for Best ASMR Streamer at The Streamer Awards on March 12.

However, following on from the awards ceremony, Amouranth took to Twitter to share some comments from her fans who claimed that the only way women can be successful streamers is if they are "hot."

Amouranth Responds To Fans Saying Only 'Hot' Women Can Be Successful Streamers

On March 15, Amouranth retweeted a photograph, originally posted by her fellow Twitch streamer Youna "CodeMiko" Kang, featuring herself along with a number of famous female content creators, including Natalia "Alinity" Mogollon and Alexandra Botez. Amouranth stated pictures taken at The Streamer Awards, and subsequently released online, had prompted her to receive a number of DMs belittling the women pictured, stating they had achieved success because they were "hot."

In the tweet, Amouranth stated: "If you see that all/almost all the [women] who are super successful at streaming 'look like super models' and the conclusion you draw is 'all it takes to be successful as a female content creator is to be hot,' it's kind of like arriving at the conclusion that all it takes to be a successful male creator is to avoid cleaning your streaming room [...] Maybe attributing the lion's share of the observed result to the baseline commonality isn't using your thinking hat."

The 28-year-old claimed that such a way of thinking is like going to an NBA game and deducting that all you need to do to be a successful basketball player is to be "born tall."

Attractiveness Isn't The "Easy Mode" To Success, Claims Amouranth

Amouranth's comments sparked a fairly heated debate on Twitter with fans from both sides of the argument lending their opinion. Following on from her original tweet, Amouranth continued on March 16 by saying, "people who think attractiveness = easy mode are succumbing to system one thinking."

As well as saying people who share this view probably don't have large brains, she claimed that "if 100,000 attractive girls try their hands at an activity and fail, then being attractive isn't 'auto-win' now is it?"

Once again, Amouranth has proven that she isn't prepared to sit by and let others diminish her career or that of her fellow female Twitch streamers because of their looks. Sadly, it doesn't look like misogynistic trolls will go away any time soon, but Amouranth will likely always be ready to clap right back at them.
