Stardew Valley Sturgeon: Location, Seasons And Uses
The Stardew Valley Sturgeon is needed as part of the Lake Fish Bundle in The Fish Tank upgrade of the Community Centre. By completing this bundle, you unlock access to the Copper Pan and the panning system in Stardew Valley. The Glittering Boulder is also removed from the mountain lake. The Sturgeon spawns in the mountain lake during Summer and Winter. The mountain lake is located east of Robin’s house, near the mines. The Sturgeon is affected by rain in the way that it is less likely to spawn in rainy weather in the Winter and more likely to spawn in rainy weather in Summer, so this is the prime time to catch one.
The Sturgeon may also appear in the Travelling Cart’s rotating stock on Fridays and Sundays, and Krobus’ shop on Wednesdays.
The time of day or season does not matter if the player uses Magic Bait, obtainable from Mr Qi’s Walnut Room. However, if you need a Sturgeon for the Community Centre bundle, chances are you haven't unlocked this yet.

Rainy days in Summer will give you the best luck for catching a Sturgeon. It may also be worth investing in a better fishing rod or some bait (purchasable from Willy). Bait can be crafted from Bug Meat, and the recipe is given to the player upon achieving fishing level 2.
The use of Wild Bait will further reduce the time for fish to bite and the likelihood of reeling in Trash items. The recipe for Wild Bait is given to the player for achieving 4+ hearts with Linus and will increase the chance of reeling in two fish at once (does not include Legendary Fish).

Stardew Valley Sturgeon Fishpond

The Sturgeon is one of the most profitable fish to cultivate in a Fishpond. This is due to the fact they produce Roe which, when added to a Preserves Jar, produces Caviar. Caviar sells for 500g, or 700g if the player has the Artisan Profession perk, making it a profitable addition to the farm.
You may also need to build a Sturgeon Fish pond as Caviar is one of the items needed to complete the Missing Bundle after the completion of the Community Centre.
Also, Caviar is liked by nearly all villagers except for Jas, Sebastian and Vincent who hate it.
The Fish will reproduce every 4 days in the Fish Pond if provided with the items they request. These are;
- First request - Diamond
- Second - Either, 1 Jelly, 2 Maple Syrup or 1 Pickles.
- Third - 3 Omni Geodes
- Last request before full capacity - 1 Nautilus Shell
Stardew Valley Sturgeon Tailoring
The Sturgeon can be used to create Blue Dye, or can be used in the spool of the sewing machine to create the Fishing Vest, which looks like a stereotypical fishing vest.
